Following the instructions of library volunteers
You may schedule a specific time to come to the Library by contacting us via phone, email or the website. If you prefer not to schedule a specific time, you may be asked to wait until we have space for additional patrons. While waiting, please follow social distancing guidelines and keep six feet between you and other patrons, if you are waiting outside of your vehicle. A volunteer will let you know when you may enter the library.
We ask that you reach out to us by phone or email as much as possible. The phone number is (512) 541-1036 and the email address is jarrelllibrary@gmail.com.
Please call us ahead of your visit, and we can check to be sure the resource you need is available.
We are requiring all visitors over age 2 to wear masks that cover nose and mouth. If you do not have a mask, we will provide disposable masks.
Jarrell Community Library volunteers are wearing masks.
While browsing the shelves, please maintain social distancing to reduce person-to-person contact.
If you already have materials checked out, you may continue to enjoy them. We’ll continue to renew your items as long as no other patrons are waiting for them.
All volunteers are required to wear masks and we ask that they be worn when traveling throughout the library, when working with colleagues and during public service interactions.
We encourage frequent handwashing and using hand sanitizer between each patron interaction. Workstations and other high-touch areas will be cleaned frequently throughout the day.
Our meeting areas are closed until further notice.
Returns
We ask that you return most materials, such as books, DVDs, CDs and audiobooks, in the book drop outside the library.
Cleaning materials at home may damage them. We will quarantine returned materials as they come in.
Reserves
As we are quarantining returned materials, there will be delays in delivering reserved materials to the next patron.
A family member or friend may pick up your reserved materials. Once they arrive in the library’s parking lot, call the library at (512) 541-1036 and a volunteer will bring the reserved material(s) to them.
Checking Out Materials
We ask that you use social distancing as much as possible when checking out materials at the circulation desk.
Volunteers will be using hand sanitizer and/or gloves before and after check out.
Computers
We have two (2) computers available for patron use. We will stagger usage times to allow for social distancing, cleaning and sanitizing.
You may use one computer session a day. Sessions are one hour. Additional time is available for resumes and applications. You may make reservations by contacting the library.

Support Your Library
Thank you for considering a gift to the Jarrell Community Library. As always, you may make donations to the Friends of the Jarrell Community Library. The Friends of the Jarrell Community Library is a separate organization that supports the Library through advocacy, fundraising, and assistance to keep our library going strong, as our library runs on donations alone and is not tax-funded. We want to instill an atmosphere of fellowship, teamwork, and community support while allowing everyone the opportunity to use their own unique skills and talents. We need people from all kinds of backgrounds, art and design, fundraising, general volunteer staff, communications and publicity, and more. There is always a way that you can help.
